Butch-Femme List

The Butch-Femme list was created in January 1997 to provide for the community needs of Butches and Femmes. Today, the membership of this list encompasses a diverse gathering of Butches and Femmes, including some members who identify as HighFemmes, StoneButches, StoneFemmes, TGButches, FtMs and MtFs. While we share a common love for the Butch-Femme dynamic, we also strive to accept, tolerate, respect and enjoy our sometimes widely divergent experiences and opinions.

Attempts to dismiss the legitimacy of Butch-Femme as an identity will not be tolerated.
This list is not for Butch-Butch or Femme-Femme relationships. Lists covering those dynamics can be found elsewhere on the Internet.

As with any email list, if you are new to Butch-Femme you should listen carefully before jumping in.

Butches on this list may further identify as lesbians, masculine females, masculine women, etc. A few extremely masculine females may identify as StoneButches, TGButches, and FtM and will prefer the use of male pronouns and names for themselves. If you are a StoneButch, Femme, TGButch, TransMan or FtM and you are looking for a list to support your specific needs, we recommend you consider joining our StoneButch and TGButch lists.

Your Butch-Femme List Wrangler, oversees this frequently high-volume list and the sometimes serious, sometimes lighthearted interactions that take place between list members. While respectful differences of opinion are expected during list discussions, the List Wrangler,supported by the List Owner, will not tolerate flaming and disruptive behavior.

No flaming or negative inter-personal drama and disruption between list members on the list.
New list members will be announced as they are subscribed and are asked to post an introduction including such details as: Name, Age, Location, Identity, Relationship Status, Hobbies/Interests, etc.
Butch-Femme List is private. What is written between members stays on the list unless express consent to share any material is publicly asked for on the list and given with the knowledge of all list members.
Do not forward any Butch-Femme list posts to non-members.
Avoid cross posting between lists or replying to private mail in public. Double check your email addresses and message headers before sending any mail.
This list can be high volume. Unsubscribe from the list when you go on vacation or become too busy to keep up. A full inbox can lead to bounced email, which will automatically unsubscribe you. Re-subscribe when you are prepared to participate again.
